Spreading Holiday Cheer: Our Commitment to Giving Back to Our Communities

5 December 2023

During the holiday season, it is essential to extend our joy and heartfelt wishes, particularly to those in need. Continuing our cherished tradition, each site has contributed a donation to support both local and international non-profit organizations this year.

Morgan Hill, CA: Second Harvest of Silicon Valley

In efforts to maintain an ongoing partnership, the Morgan Hill office has continued to sponsor Second Harvest of Silicon Valley. Second Harvest supports an average of 500,000 individuals monthly, assisting those within the Bay Area with relief from the increasingly high cost of living within Silicon Valley in a post-pandemic world.  We aspire to continue the aid efforts and ensure everyone has access to food and supplies during and beyond the holiday season.

As the festive spirit of Christmas approaches, the Morgan Hill office has also continued their support of the annual toy drive with the The Edward Boss Prado Foundation. The Edward Boss Prado Foundation extends its outreach by gathering new toys from local businesses across the communities of the South Santa Clara County. The toy drive will be distributed around several organizations including, the Morgan Hill Unified School District. It was a great pleasure that our office actively participates in this heartwarming program among others throughout the year.

In the spirit of giving, Cash for Kids, a UK-based charity, is ensuring that no child or young person in their communities goes without presents this Christmas. Our UK office enthusiastically joined the Christmas Mission program to bring joy to every child during this festive season.

Toray Composite Materials America (CMA)

Tacoma, Washington, USA: Giving tree, Humane Society, United Way Pledge Donation Fall Event

In a heartwarming display of community engagement, Toray CMA Tacoma office orchestrated various creative initiatives to give back this year. Among them, the "Giving Tree" stands out—a thoughtful endeavor supporting children from 10 schools within the Bethel school district, the very community where the Tacoma CMA office thrives. Armed with wish lists provided by the school district, employees  get a chance to play Santa by selecting a child's wish from the tree and purchase them as presents.  All the gifts will be delivered in early December.

Adding a touch of furry fun, CMA hosted a pet photo contest, transforming the snapshots into a delightful pet calendar available for purchase. The proceeds from the calendar sales go toward supporting both the Humane Society and the United Way, reflecting CMA's commitment to making a positive impact on various fronts.

Further demonstrating their dedication to community welfare, the Tacoma office actively participated in the United Way Pledge Donation Fall event. Pledge forms, distributed among employees, encourage single or continuous donations to the United Way cause. As the month concludes, these heartfelt pledges will be handed over to the United Way, solidifying CMA’s unwavering support for community well-being.
