TenCate Advanced Composites to showcase cost effective solutions for composite fabrication at CAMX 2016

This press release was issued as TenCate Advanced Composites, prior to our acquisition by Toray Industries and name change to Toray Advanced Composites in 2019.

TenCate Advanced Composites, a leading developer and manufacturer of advanced composite materials, will be exhibiting at CAMX 2016 in Anaheim on September 27-29th. Visit us at Booth K2 to learn about the latest product innovations in thermoset and thermoplastic composites for both aerospace and industrial applications.

TenCate’s wide portfolio of material solutions include the TenCate Cetex® family of thermoplastic composites including fabrics, unidirectional tapes, molding compounds and laminates for use within aerospace, defense and industrial applications.

TenCate will be highlighting our latest and most cost effective solutions for composite part fabrication. TenCate will have the following items on display:

• TenCate’s TC275-1 OOA epoxy prepregs using A&P Technology’s versatile QISO® quasi-isotropic fabrics, which provide higher strength and more efficient lay-up compared to traditional woven fabrics.
• TenCate’s AmberTool® HXR50 multi-axial prepregs which reduce the cost and simplify composite tool fabrication.
• An Airbus A400 thermoplastic rudder assembly manufactured with TenCate’s Cetex TC1100 PPS 18 ply thermoplastic laminate.
• TenCate’s cost effective chopped fiber billet stock for fast prototype construction or limited production of complex composite parts. This is also the subject of a TenCate CAMX technical paper titled “Compression Molded Billet: Advantages and Uses”.
• High end sneakers making use of TenCate CFRT thermoplastic laminates from TenCate’s Performance Composites group for carbon fiber/thermoplastic insoles and outer soles.

TenCate personnel will also participate in two moderated sessions, one on “out of autoclave” materials and one on thermoplastic composites.
