SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

Working as part of the global marketing group, responsible for planning and implementing TCAC (Toray’s) regional marketing activities, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. Working broadly with Segment Managers and Product Managers, oversee development and implementation of support materials in the area of product marketing, communications, events, and public relations. Directs the efforts of the marketing, communications and public relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

MAJOR DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

1. Responsible for creating and implementing a comprehensive marketing, communications and public relations program that will enhance the Organization’s image and position within the marketplace and the general public, and facilitate internal and external communications; and, Organization marketing, communications and public relations activities and materials including publications, media relations, customer support, electronic and social media.

2. Ensure articulation of Organization’s desired image and position, assure consistent communication of image and position throughout the Organization, both internal and external. A key focus is to ensure the company is positioned as a thought leader in the industry, and is well-versed in the use of digital and social media tools for brand promotion.

3. Responsible for editorial direction, design, production and distribution of Organization Marketing collateral both electronic and hard copy that may including brochures, eNewsletters, web content, data sheets, PowerPoint presentations, advertising and trade shows.

4. As part of a global coordinated effort, provide input and act as a resource to Europe and Asian peers on marketing, communications and public relations. Participate in regular communication with Market Segment Managers and Product Managers to interpret segmentation strategy to drive a multi-channel communications strategy aligned to the business expansion.

5. Coordinate media interest in the Organization relating to the development of the Americas market, and ensure regular contact with target media and appropriate response to media requests. Act as one of the organization’s representatives with the trade media.

6. Support Toray CMA as necessary with press releases and divisional support for the Toray group image by following identity guidelines and developing content for web, corporate events and application articles.

7. Coordinate the appearance of all Organization print and electronic materials such as letterhead, use of logo, brochures, signage, lobby displays, trade advertising etc.

8. Develop, coordinate and oversee programs, technical assistance and resource materials to assist account managers in the marketing, communications and positioning of their sales activities.

9. Ensure that the Organization regularly conducts relevant market research and coordinate and oversee this activity. Monitor trends.

10. Leads projects as assigned, such as cause-related marketing and special events.

EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal sales skills.
  • Experience developing and managing marcom budgets and supervising and appraising personnel.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media.
  • Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications.
  • Experience in social media, website content management systems, electronic distribution and creation of newsletters and surveys.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office, CRM, CMS and 3rd party programs such as Linked In, Twitter, etc.
  • Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
  • Strong oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
  • Out-of-town, overnight travel is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree required plus 7-10 years of relevant experience.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must pass color blindness test.
  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs.
  • Some activities like trade shows may require standing for 4-6 hours for several consecutive days.
